Got stuck in Rio Gallegos for a night because my bus was delayed and I missed my bus to Ushuaia. Probably the biggest **** hole in the world.

Made it to Ushuaia the next night and figured I only have 1 day there because I've pre booked all my bus passes so I have to make the best of it.

Found 2 tours I can do.
In the morning, caught a taxi to the port to go on a boat trip. Once the sunrise started at 9:30am, the town and the snow-capped mountains lit ...
Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina olace... br>
Ushuaia and Punta Arenas should organise a swap of location, wholesale. Punta Arenas feels like the a community at the end of the world, where even hope hibernates for the winter. Ushuaia, meanwhile, is the bonafide 'most southerly city' and yet is neat, quaint and downright civilised - positioned on the inclement shores of the Beagle Channel and rising to a crocodile's teeth of picture-postcard snow-capped mountains. The centre of town, an orderly cluster of ...
Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina deaworldwide... is an aberrant, grouse-like shorebird that is found in alpine, sub-alpine, and steppe habitats of South America). Despite the unfavorable conditions (the chairlift was busted so we had to walk, it was about 5 degrees not including the 100 km/h wind chill...brrrrr!), after hours of fruitless looking Nathan finally prevailed. Unfortunately we were way too cold to watch them for more than a few minutes, but ...
Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina nathangie... by climming endless amount of stairs, to finally reach the top. Its a massive statu of Crist, its the second biggest statu in the world next to statu of liberty. The view, you could see the sand, sky, sea and city just spectaculer!. It worth looking it up on the net if you want to get a idiea. The next stop was the favella, ¨Favella´s are poor to middle class sections of the city, were people live.(i hate to say this but something ...
Ushuaia, Argentina nic.lachapelle... a taxi. I won't get one by myself anymore!I guess you don't have a true South American experience without getting mugged! :) As I said before, I'm currently in Ushuaia. Ushuaia is referred to the 'End of the World' as it is the most southern town in the world. This is where you catch the cruise ships to Antarctica. It's damn freezing here too, AND it's not even winter!! It is amazingly beautiful with snow capped mountains all around. It kinda reminds me of the town in ...
Ushuaia, Argentina flipisme... there too. Naturally I was quite happy since it is always great to have such nice company! Later Dante (a newfound friend originally from Ushuaia - now back for a visit (by car from Buenos Aires! 3500 km in two days)) was getting us to Ushuaia Airport and soon we could see the clouds detracting Ushuaia from us for good ... I will add more pictures and a video soon - but internet connections don't allow this here atm ...
Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina stefank... on a car ferry to cross the Magellan Strait just to get a break from riding into a head wind for the last 3 days and it was only a 1/2 hour trip across to Tierra del Fuego, then back into the wind. The best part of the ride from the last 6 days was the last 100kms going into Ushuaia with forest, lakes and mountians along the way and Ushuaia is a great place which made the long journey ...
Ushuaia, Patagonia, Argentina chileadventure... outside to the deck and showed how to get into the rescue boats. We couldn't care less, as we immediately turned into ice sculpture and were barely able to move our legs. I was turning blue when we finally got the signal from the Capitan that we are dismissed. Since that experience, Tony and I never step out of the cabin without the proper Eskimo attire. We sailed out toward the dark sea and straight away encounter a bit of a rough sea, although according to ...
Ushuaia, Argentina dionea... thus eleminating the need to tender. The weather was mostly sunny and very windy. The Channel is surrounded on all sides by mountains, snow covered and ragged; one side is Chile and the other is Argentina. These mountains are the southern end of the Andies which, over the millenium, have sunken. We cruised very close to ...
