I think I wrote in my journal Thursday of last week. The last three days have been just driving the countryside of France and visiting sweet little medieval villages. They are so quaint and different than anything we have in the States.

Last night we went to a 3 star Michelin restaurant—Auberge de L'Ill in Illhaeusern. It was amazing and the most expensive meal we have ever had. I doubt we will experience it again, but it was ...

... had a tower to climb, so we climbed it. It was very worth the effort as we were able to see the whole town from the tower which took 329 steps to climb. We also went into the bell tower and were able to see the church's sixteen bells. Some are very large, and heaviest weighs almost 7000kg. We then went on a walking tour of the town using a guidebook. We both had the roast pork ...

... down I could feel my hands getting sweaty. There was also a heart monitor in front of you and before the ride started my heart rate was at 98 and then it went up to 113 (from what I could see) while going upside down on the loop. But that one was my FAVORITE ride and I would have gone again, but we didn’t have much time left in the park. The girls found some food and we sat down before leaving for the bus. It sucked that ...

    Ballons des Vosges National Park

A travel blog entry by rolandandlinda on Aug 18, 2014

    Monday 18 August

A cool day with on and off drizzle. Time to move on from the Meuse and
head towards the Vosges and the National Parks of Alsace Lorraine, north of
Mulhouse. Thought about stopping in a campsite in the Lorraine National Park
but decided to keep heading south, through Nancy and on to the Ballons des
Vosges National Park. Good choice. Ended up at Camping les Jonquilles, with ...
