This morning we did the Rick Steves walking tour of Colmar. It is such a charming place. There is a fantastic and huge market place with fresh meats, fish, cheeses, sweets, and other "produits de Alsace". We enjoyed it. Then we decided to take the car to a couple more nearby villages, Eguisheim and Turckheim. Eguisheim was recently voted one of "the most beautiful villages in France". It was certainly charming! Round outer walls and an inner wall as well. All of the lanes ...

... Cruise and we have the best crew ever! They not only take great care of you, but they are wonderful fun people who get along and make you smile and laugh. Time is going so fast! ... figured the best time to break this to them was after they gave me a birthday present. Ah well. Abba also neglected to mention that we got very yummy gelato, which was a nice throwback to G & A’s time in Italy with me, where we once had gelato three times in one day. And that the meal we ate at Haslacher Hof was really really unbelievably good. Seriously, it was insane. At one point, Ben said “Please leave me here. At this chair. So I can keep eating this bread forever.” ...

... ski fields and summer mountain bike riding! Not only that - 2 of the Tour de France stages is to be held here on 12th July, stages 8 and 9.

We drove to the 1000 m above sea level point to view the lake, just amazing.

From there we drove through cobbled streets of Munster and headed to Colmar, we wanted to revisit the Statue of Liberty and this time not drive past but stop and take a photo.
