After a whirlwind trip to the south of France, my parents and I are heading back to Geneva to catch our flight home on Wednesday. Since we had plenty of time, we decided to take a small detour to the east side of Avignon to visit the Lavender Museum.

This turned out to be an incredibly fascinating and soothing adventure. We were able to learn all about lavender, it's different types, what it needs to grow, and how it is distilled ...

My parents arrived Friday evening and I don't think I've ever been so happy to see them! Unfortunately my mom had some sort of bug and I'm still getting over my cold, so we've taken it easy the past few days. Geneva was a bit grey on arrival but our ...

... br> A little bit about Geneva and Switzerland.

Geneva is Switzerland's second biggest city. It lies in the southwest, near the border with France, at the western end of Lake Geneva, where the Rhone flows out of the lake. A number of major international organizations have their headquarters in Geneva. These include the United Nations (UN), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the World Health Organisation (WHO), the UN High Commission ...

... why. As the pictures show, it is post card perfect. We had a quick nap on the beach and then it was back home for the next adventure. This one is pretty good. I was invited to the birthday party of the girlfriend of a friend of a friend I had only met the day before. So I decided to be all kinds of social and break down all the normal awkwardness that could accompany such an occasion. With the help of a dear friend called whiskey I started talking to everyone, whether ...
