... around for awhile and ended up at the Atocha Train Station. This was home to the largest terrorist attack in Spanish history on March 11th, 2003. Inside the station, there is a Tropical Forrest set up complete with turtles. It was neat to see as last time I was there part of it was under construction.

I met up with Iria and Jota at 4 for lunch and afterwords we went to walk around a nearby park for a little over 2 hours. It was a great Friday!

... I'm at school. Come Thursday, the two of us will be flying on a plane to the Canary Islands which is off the coast of Africa, but under the rule of Spain. The weekend after Kenny leaves, all of the seminar programs will be going on one last trip as a group, but they have yet to tell us where that may be. Hopefully it's to Morocco because I'm too scared to go alone or with friends. The final weekend in March is going to be a little more low ...

Plane ride was OK and we landed safely to face another problem. We were hoping to drop the big bags off in Madrid and pick them up on our return. Trip Advisor told me that the bus station had a left luggage facility that charged 1.25 euro a day for up to 45 days so we got a taxi to the depot. Turns out it is 5 euros a day for 15 days and then ...

... me a lot of Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, which is world famous for its Beignets. Both places are open 24/7. San Gines is located in Sol, close to lots of Discotecas and Bars. Our teacher informed us that it gets crazy on weekend nights after people leave the discotecas. I can see why, it was delicious! After a nice, chocolately breakfast, we headed to el Rastro. El Rastro is Spain's largest, most famous open air market/flea market. This, of course, was right up my alley! ...

... After that I went on the hunt for some markets that were supposedly nearby, but that was a failure.

Today we left Portugal to return to Spain. We went to Madrid via Salamanca, a name that only I thought was cool as no one else is from Tasmania. Salamanca is a fairly small town with pretty sandstone buildings. It has an imposing church that rises above all the other buildings, and a really nice, big enclosed square with lots of restaurants around the edge. It was quite different ...
