... going to visit 3 countries in a week - Brazil and briefly back to Argentina to see both sides of the famous Iguassu Falls, and also a brief trip across the border into Paraguay. We've been warned to stay alert in Paraguay as its a border crossing used by gun runners and people smuggling goods into Brazil, so should be interesting! ;) More about that later...

Hope all is well back home, are things beginning to feel a bit like Christmas?

Après un départ émouvant, je me console avec une coupe de champagne en business class. Le vol est long (12h15) mais j'en profite pour mater des films, lire le routard et dormir un peu.
Une fois arrivé, je fonce vers une compagnie de taxi de confiance, et lui tend les coordonnées de Xyomara, mon hôte pour les deux premières nuits. Le chauffeur ne connaît pas l'adresse, appelle l'assistance ...

... wondering what happened to the bag... well, he pulled over and when linds asked him what to do with it, he laughed & made a "tie-it-in-a-knot" motion, and then a "toss-it-on-the-side-of-the-freeway-and -whistle-while-you-walk-away" motion. He gave me a comment book to sign once we got to the airport, I wrote something along the lines of... "Senor, lo siento por el vomito en el taxi. Muchas Gracias." It really wasn't funny at the time... but now its pretty hilarious lol

    ... Much better to probably buy a battered car and expect a few more dints, you just need a working horn - crucial in these parts! It's used at green lights to tell waiting traffic you're coming, to enquire if all passers by want a taxi, to let someone know you don't like waiting in traffic and of course to let people know your coming into their lane at the last moment and turning left from the 3rd lane on the right.
