... We had an awesome apartment with all the trimmings including access to the hotel pool. We arrived late afternoon, picked up a rental car, put some shorts on and headed into downtown Cancun. Cancun is very built up. The beach is lined with high rise hotels, bars and restaurants. The one road in and out is lined with palm trees and well kept green grass. It's very Americanised and looks like a mini Las Vegas with huge clubs, chain restaurants and motion picture ...

... us so we got to have a super quick catch up over brekky :) so good to share our good news with friends!!! Our flight was meant to leave at 8am but surprise surprise it was delayed. Only cause of foggy conditions though! Ill post a pic of what it looked like from my window seat on the plane. At long last we landed around 11.30am and we got a private transfer to our resort where we paid an extra $25 a night for an ocean view ...

... Josh took a few dodgy pictures (pic 1) and on we went to the hotel. Our room is great, we had 2 massive beds, a balcony with an impressive sea view and a drinks dispenser and fridge that's refilled every 2 days. This is how I found my love for rum! As all we've wanted to do for since we booked it was get on the beach so we ventured down and went straight into the sea. Heaven ...

... but the security guards wouldn't let us, due to the Mantarrays!? In the end we paddled about near the shore which was good :)

Rolled home just after 5, to battle with the barking dogs, and once we got in, the woman was still up and walking about?! Crazy. So strange!

What a day. What a start to an amazing year this is going to be.

Dinner tonight with Ile and her friends, and moving house tomorrow hopefully. DREAM.
