      Had another late start today, at first I couldn't convince ash to wake up and then by the time I did by killer headache was rearing its head. But with some nurofen and water that seemed under control, and off we went! Caught the C train to 14th st and then switched to the L train and arrived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.       ... From there we went two doors to Duplex which is an "open mic" bar that god every day until 4am. The format is the is a pianist and anybody else who might want to play along. For awhile there was a sax player as well. Patrons get up and sing and most do a good job. Jolanta did two songs and of course went down well being a professional singer.
