Bye Bye Brugge... Hello London!

Merlebeke was a great little stop really. i chatted to the barman who is a real foody. They do international food days regularly. They did africa, sweeden, italy etc. I showed him a haggis recipe and as he loves eating offal he thought a scottish day would go down well. it was snowing heavily when I got up. It didnt settle on the ground long though as it was still about 2c. ...

The memorial at Saint Julien is called 'The Brooding Soldier'. As breathtaking as the memorial at Vimy Ridge is, I find the Saint Julien Memorial to be much more moving. It is simple and elegant, and speaks volumes without saying a word.
