Outside the Chapel, but within the Windsor compound, are some cute 15th Century houses
where some staff, even today, reside, though they don’t get a view of the town below – the buildings are arranged in a circle looking out on a pleasant landscaped courtyard.

Very accommodating staff, adequate rooms, great pub and restaurant. Visit Aldermaston and Tadley and stay at the Hind's Head if you want to get a feel for the real England.
