... hopped back on the highway. We soon passed through the outskirts of Buffalo and on into Batavia. Another part of my plan was to eat in the fantastic restaurant we had been to on the way out. Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse is the oldest surviving lighthouse on Lake Ontario. It overlooks the Genesee River's flow into Lake Ontario at Rochester. They are also on the War of 1812 Bicentennial trail and have a small honorary International Peace Garden.
