We hit the decks early to head to Watkins Glen. It took a couple hours to get to Seneca Lake through the canal and one lock. We saw more blue herons than we could count or photograph. The lake was calm and we had a very nice run down.

The rain continued to fall and we passed through a town called Aurora and found a diner open - Gus's - lots of the businesses up here don't open until May so I think we were lucky - well kind of - lunch was OK.

... the Navman was leading us astray! But alas as the signs flew past us and we changed highways a couple of times (as per the Navman lady) we finally knew we were on the right track!

Stopped at a cute town - the road sign said it was "Montville" but all through the town it was "Fairfield" so not really sure where we were. Anyway the sun was shining and we found a deli called "Caboos on the Corner" and had a spot of lunch there!

Arrived at Ithaca at around 1700 ...
