... and meet our host Violet, a lovely Hungarian woman. She has made us a lovely supper to eat of cold meats and salad under the veranda. The cottage is absolutely beautiful.
We are quite tired so we have a rest after the long ride and then head out to see the 10pm fireworks over Niagara Falls.

We took the traditional boat cruise of the falls - The maid of the mist. This went right to the base of the falls, hence our blue ponchos in the photo. We still got wet from the mist.
We were there for Friday night fireworks which were also spectacular. Cam watched them from the room and was the official photographer for the night and we walked to the river.

I then headed out again for another walk around before I met up with two English girls who were staying there, and we went out for dinner at a local pub removed from the tourist area. It was quite a good pub and they brewed their own beer so we tried a 'tasting flight' of 4 small glasses of beer for $5.50, definately the way to go. I am certainly getting a taste for a the pumpkin beer!

... the boat where you get given a blue poncho to wear. Glad I went to the Cave first and I had kept on my sandals which was great as you get drenched on this boat ride. You first go past the American Falls with just a little light spray from that one. It is however so windy in the gorge with gusts of wind coming through.
