We will become members at Bergen Op zoom for the year as it is quite close to Dunkirk for travelling with the car.

We fly back to UK on 3rd September for a wedding in the North East (John's nephew Mark is marrying Chesca) so this is the last blog until we return on 10th September as just ...

... Isi put full kit on but John only got his jacket on then it threw it down. At first we had to stay out in it to make sure of directions on the Volkerak and to watch the barges and other boats in the area, getting ourselves into the small boat channel, then we were able to steer from inside. This was only needed for about 10 minutes and then the weather cleared up.

We made our way into a very big lock especially for yachts ...

Today we were supposed to cycle 53km on a round trip via De Haan on the coast and through more rural scenery. What seemed like a grand plan last night over a couple of bottles of "ZOT" beer at the local cafe/pizzeria evaporated this morning as we creaked down to breakfast. My chances of staying on "to bring in the harvest" diminish further as "Mr Van Damme" makes another smug appearance.....this time patting Helen of Troys knee ...

... It was awesome because we were able to see a lot more because our group was so small and we all got along. It turned out that we were all staying in the same hostel.
