So we are on day 11 … We are just over the 2000 km mark and so far no permanent damage let alone no divorce papers being served!! … I have to say parking the rig can be a bit testy with me somehow never managing to be standing in the 'RIGHT’ spot or waving my hands in the right direction.. So yes generally cocking it up!!! I thinks I might be better off doing the driving!! I have ...

It was a dark and stormy night

Left Huntersville heading up 77N - 81N toward Virginia Wine Country in the aftermath of hurricane Ida. Quick stop at the Va state line was worth it - great maps.

Our first winery stop was Rockbridge Vineyard - exit 205. Absolutely wonderful. Not a glitzy new tasting room but very enjoyable. Hard to believe our favorite wines on the tasting were the $10 wines; St Mary's Blanc (Vidal Blanc ...

I got on the wrong stupid plane

... scream like agghhhh! or something, no... a high pitched, little girl, temper tantrum, idon'tknowwhatyouwantmetodorightnowi'ms oconfusedandscared scream. You had to be there, really.

Eventually they figure out what is wrong with me, and they nicely usher me onto the right plane. Phew. I sit beside a nice blonde lady and we flip through the sky mall catalogue and talk about boys the whole way home.

The customs agent tries to charge me for my second bottle of vodka. I ...

Day of no darkness

This is the day I waited for for at least six months! I haven't been on a big vacation for quite a while so I was excited. I just completed my first marathon, the Marine Corp Marathon, a little more than a week ago. How do you top a life accomplishment? How about with another life experience! Two weeks in Japan!

The day started with ...

Mmmmm, Halloween Outdoors

... hour drive back to DC munching on fudge and kettle corn. So much for not having a sugar coma, but at least it was induced by something besides candy bars.

In the evening, we dressed up and went to the party at a local art center. We listened to the music, looked at some very skull-heavy art, and chatted until it was time to go home. All in all, a very pleasant Hallowe'en.

West Virginia & the Sky Line Drive

... the other way!! There were many deer all around us at the campsite, they had no fear of us, we counted 15 different ones! The following day we drove back into Virginia to to the Skyline Drive, a very famous road constructed by the CCC again in the 30's at the dawn of the motor era for the enjoyment of driving ...

... is perfect. The days are filled with lectures (some I have heard already in school), coffee breaks and silly games. Well that is all for today, soon I will be home again and telling everyone about orientation and Mexico. I can't believe I was in Mexico last week! Crazy! peace out ck
