... smoothest days on the road are the most uneventful. We didn't have any traffic issues, we didn't get in a fight over directions or driving habits, we didn't have any rain (or hail! We did a great job getting ready last night so this morning went really smoothly. We made record time driving down to San Francisco, which means we had way to much time at the airport. I had a full day in Sacramento yesterday and will board the train this morning. I stayed at the Vagabond Inn - fitting. It is right across from the Amtrak station which was really convenient. There is a California Train Museum here that is very interesting. They show how they carved a path through the mountains when they first built the railroad out here - over the Sierra Nevadas, through the famous Donner Pass. I'll be going ...
