Happy Inn Ho Chi Minh City

With some trepidation we arrived in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). We'd been told many things about this place by friends and colleagues who'd been here, mostly revolving around the insane roads. Apparently the place is overrun with traffic that weaves in and out across the large roads, often using pavements as short cuts and ignoring any traffic signals. So as we like pottering about (walking) we expected to hate the place.

Well, our trip has about 5 days left. We are out of laundry for sure. I've started buying tshirts and more Thai pants in an attempt to make it through to January 2nd without having to do laundry. Right now, we're in Ho Chi Minh for a few hours more. The past five days have been busy. While in Ho Chi Minh, we booked a tour to the Mekong Delta and rode a boat up and around the four islands (Dragon, Phoenix, Unicorn, and Turtle). 3 Cool days in Saigon! What a bustling city, you've never seen so many scooters in one place!! (Over 3 million of them on the roads here apparently) And the traffic rules are nuts! Still havn't figured out if there are any actually! We've made it to an exclusive Vietnameese restaraunt called Tuan and Tu's (which you actually have to go down a small alley and knock on a door with nothing more than a name plate on it.) Apparently local celebs eat there, though unfortunately none of were sure of...

Mostly Melted... That would be the best way to describe us over the past week. We have hit hot sunny weather and have managed to not burn...very badly at least. We were traveling fairly fast and spent only a few days at Nha Trang, Mui Ne and Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon) and the surrounding Mekong Delta.
