Sheree's antenna's were up the rest of the visit. The arch normally says Wormsloe with two dates on either side, 1733, the year the owner Noble Jones arrived in Savannah and 1913, the year the arch was erected.

Savanna is about 100 miles from Charleston and a world away in terms of architecture, genteelness (is that a word??) and cool places to see. Once again we stayed on the outskirts and drove daily into town to do the tourist thang. Of all the places we have been, Savanna is by far the best. ... and killed at least a hundred of those suckers. Eventually we had to don our very snappy, fashionable bug clothing including the ever popular Bug Bucket( a hat with a net to cover the face.) and our net jackets. While this was helpful, it did not stop the flies from entering the boat. We eventually had to close all the windows. Now folks, it was about 90 degrees with 100% humidity in the swamps.
