We were pretty pleased to be leaving Provincetown for a bigger city with hopefully some life. On the way down the coast we passed some mental halloween displays outside houses and took a detour to the Cape Cod crisp factory! Loads of free samples so I was happy. The city of Providence is pretty spread out and hard to navigate round. Our hotel, the Biltmore, was awesome - old style and grand but was right across ...

... We parked in a super rich area of town where I am sure our van got snooty looks and walked down to the campus. It was not the nicest day outside once again but the campus was very pretty. There was a really fancy courtyard that led to all the frat and sorority buildings and it felt a little surreal like we were in a movie. There were tours going on for possible future students and a girl was explaining that a certain gate was considered bad luck. If a ...

We checked out if the hotel, wandered down to get a coffee then back to collect our bags for the 10 minute walk to the station. We arrived at the station to discover the train to Chicago was running probably an hour late. Great consternation as the train to Chicago that we were taking as far ...

... but Ted's well planned and for us very personalised back roads tour certainly made up for it.
We did however enjoy the beautiful Fall colours during the following month in Canada!

The broad ranging discussions, without the constraints of being on a small bus, resulted in a very informative and enjoyable day.

Six and 1/2 hour drive...not too bad. we stayed on the American side which is a state park. Lots of walking but we hopped a trolley cuz we got totally lost. Beautiful grounds but lots of construction going on. We were able to get real close to the falls from this side. Canadian side is more manicured and has lots of shops and restaurants. There were fireworks right outside our bedroom window that looked like they were coming right at us. ...
