A day off

A travel blog entry by dutchnomad on Jul 26, 2015

I wake up to a nice day for walking. But I decide not to. I can use the rest and I have a bag full of dirty clothes. The water in the lake is quite clear. After boiling it I can drink that and it's clear enough to wash my clothes in. I put up a washing line and wash ...

Pushing for grevesmuhlen

... After eight kilometre I am very tired but I've reached Grevesmühlen and there are at least five supermarkets here. I see a beautiful spot to put up camp. I get my groceries and head back to that spot. It's in a forest next to a beautiful lake. I won't be out of sight but at the same time, I'll be in nobody's way. It has a river running through it and more than enough space for me to put my tent up. It's just half past one and before I do anything else, I take out my cooker and make my sausages. I really enjoy them too. When I'm finished eating, I put up my tent, start reading and that's basically it. I just hope I get some energy back ...

The show must go on

... cinnamon. I'm getting old. I don't want to spend money on a coffee in the city so I make a coffee too. I break up camp and start heading for the library just before ten. I'm working away hours on my diary, constantly aware that it's a beautiful day and I'm sitting in a library. At 4pm, I had enough of both being inside and writing. I take my backpack and start heading north-east. I can feel how tired I am when ...
