... a Howard Johnson's, parked and climbed into the back for a cold and rainly sleep of about 4 hours. I woke around 2:30 a.m. and headed west on some california state routes. Up until then I had already driven over a 1000 miles for the day. I pulled into Pismo a little before 7 a.m. and had a good breakfast, before heading up the mountain to the Sommerfeld's in an attempt to surprise them. That didn't happen, their neighbor saw me at their gate and called Marc.....

... Gold Rush town. There are many different casinos up and down the multi-tiered "strip" that winds all around the town. Brew pubs, gift shops and, yes, dispensaries are also everywhere you can see. We asked the guy at the KOA to recommend a good place to grab a bite and he said "The Lodge" casino would be our best bet. Look at the pic I just posted and you'll see why "Tonight- we eat like kings!"

... the street when along comes a bike bar. Bike bars are a bar where up to 12 people, 6 each side, peddle along the street whilst having a drink. These are usually booked by groups and cost quite a bit to hire. There were a few seats free and the group asked us to join them. It was great! We went around the block which turned out o be the end of the ride. I was exhausted.....they gave me a red bull, lol. Got home about ...

So, remember how we were trying to change from the nonstop to the connection through DCA, but there wasn't enough time for the agent to change the tickets? Apparently, there had been enough time to reroute our bags, because our bags went to DCA and then misconnected. They would have to be delivered to our house the next day. A little annoying, but virtually the only hiccup in a day that we expected to be something of a disaster.

... After a while it got too cold and we had some lunch in a cafe. There were some different things on the menu that I has never heard of, like onion rings and chilli cheese fries. On the way back we saw really big moose sitting among the trees. We came home for a little while and then Natalie, Dad and I got ready to go to Walmart to pick up a few things.
