Our last full day in Venice. Terry went off exploring and I went for a look in the shops. Met back at the hotel a few hours later and went off exploring together. ... a blown glass shop as they are well known for it in venice and I got myself a lovely shot glass for the collection. Then we moved on to find a little pastry place, so we both grabbed something that looked good but we had no idea what they were. We had been hassled a few times to go on a gondola and the thrifty Bianca side was coming through, I just couldn't part with 80-100 euros! But then this nice little chappy who had seen us walk past already ...

... to the clock we still had 5 minutes. Still the feeling of panic is hard to resist and with the guardsman looking all for waiving the train onwards we worried. Not another change to our plans. The lift bringing up Jo and the remaining cases seemed forever to get to platform 6. Karen was standing at the lift entrance willing it to come to the platform level. Sure enough it did, we got to our carriage and the train did not leave as imminently as we had thought. ...
