For those wondering if the "put America to work" program is working, it is. All across the country we have seen signs and work crews that provide the answer that at least some people are getting jobs.

... monument due to the calcite and gypsum deposits which make the caves glitter. The tour started with an elevator ride down 250ft underground, where there were no bats to worry about. The size of the caves was pretty amazing especially since they believe they have only explored 3% of the actual cave. After coming back up to the surface we headed over to Custer State Park in western South Dakota and spent our first rainy night camping.

Now for those who do not know, Cody is where our dear friend Buffallo (or Bison for those who have been following our blogg) Bill lived whose really name was William Cody. It is a real cowboy town and that’s what we wanted.

... springs so I stopped at the hot springs for an hour or two and just relaxed in the pools. There are couple of different pools available and each one is a different temperature.

By the time I arrived in Cody it was early evening so I went for a couple of beers at a nearby bar and then went for dinner in an italian restaurant, which was really good. I was expecting tomorrow to be a long day in Yellowstone so I made sure I wasnt out too late this time.

The first wildlife we saw this morning was a huge elk with huge antlers just by the side of the road. ... Friday night, but being after midnight it went out as 7/21. On Saturday morning, 7/21, waking up in Jackson, Wy., I got up and left the hotel early to go and get gas because as far as I knew, mine was the only one of the three that needed it and I didn't want to hold up the caravan. I had called in advance in Billings, Montana for these reservations which when we arrived had been totally fouled up. Well these things happen.
