Got an early start this morning and headed off by 8 am. Stopped first to drive through the Jackson Elk Wintering grounds. No Elk around, as obviously, it's not winter. But, amazing views. Then, headed off to Grand Teton National Park. Discovered that Grand Tetons actually means big tits in french. LOL Took every senic byway I saw and saw a prairie dog? I think? Small rodent anyway. Other than that, not a lot of animals in GT. Within a couple horus I hit Yellowstone, and decided to take the GR...

I added one picture from the day before for Mia and Caroline. I forgot to upload the "rabbit shot with Bud and Bina". Thought they might enjoy it.
For those wondering if the "put America to work" program is working, it is. All across the country we have seen signs and work crews that provide the answer that at least some people are getting jobs.
... monument due to the calcite and gypsum deposits which make the caves glitter. The tour started with an elevator ride down 250ft underground, where there were no bats to worry about. The size of the caves was pretty amazing especially since they believe they have only explored 3% of the actual cave. After coming back up to the surface we headed over to Custer State Park in western South Dakota and spent our first rainy night camping.

... a village day out and very much community orientated with everyone around us waving to friends, relatives and enjoying the social banter. We felt as if we were intruding but as we were hungry we joined the queue for the barbecue, which again was barbecue shredded beef on a bap, cowboy beans and coleslaw. Thankfully we were fast enough to push the kids out of earshot of the lovely ladies before they uttered "yuk`’.

... like a family run RV site beautifully named “Ponderrosa” who were all really enthusiastic about Cody and helpful on what we should do that Labour Day weekend.
Now for those who do not know, Cody is where our dear friend Buffallo (or Bison for those who have been following our blogg) Bill lived whose really name was William Cody. It is a real cowboy town and that’s what we wanted.
Our first port of call was to The Old Trail Town, which ...
... springs so I stopped at the hot springs for an hour or two and just relaxed in the pools. There are couple of different pools available and each one is a different temperature.
By the time I arrived in Cody it was early evening so I went for a couple of beers at a nearby bar and then went for dinner in an italian restaurant, which was really good. I was expecting tomorrow to be a long day in Yellowstone so I made sure I wasnt out too late this time.
... morning light and temperature it took on a whole new appearance. Plumes of steam were rising from the ground in every direction, from streams and lakes and even just from the earth itself. The first wildlife we saw this morning was a huge elk with huge antlers just by the side of the road. Then the deer that we had to use binoculars to see yesterday afternoon, were quite clearly visible from the side of the road along one of the rivers. There were tens of them ...
Wapiti, Wyoming, United States thebusmonkeys... Friday night, but being after midnight it went out as 7/21. On Saturday morning, 7/21, waking up in Jackson, Wy., I got up and left the hotel early to go and get gas because as far as I knew, mine was the only one of the three that needed it and I didn't want to hold up the caravan. After I did that, though, I went on downtown to take some pictures that I hadn't had the opportunity to take. There again, not to hold up the progress of the group. I found a great little ...

I had called in advance in Billings, Montana for these reservations which when we arrived had been totally fouled up. Well these things happen. But, for 40 minutes or more, Doug and I stood at the counter while a gentleman stared at the computer ...
Cody, Wyoming, United States cyranoToday, we spent the day wrapping up some loose ends before we leave tomorrow. This evening we went downtown with the Lytle's for an 'Old West Shoot out.'
