Amsterdam ... Predicted temperature 30°c ... Sounds like a good excuse to escape the city and explore a couple of recommended destinations: 1. Kröller-Müller Museum which is sort of central and east of Amsterdam near to Arnhem, and 2. Kinderdijk which is south of Amsterdam and close to Rotterdam. A little judicious Google-mapping and your average Dutch person would say definitely two different day trips. Your ...

... hotel. I was expecting to be ejected any minute, but we finished our picnic and walked back onto the street. Eventually, by asking again we came through Krefeld and had our first glimpse of the Rhine. ... them to make coffee and a tea for Lilli. Riding along a brand new cycle track, we were just remarking of how smooth it was, when we rounded a corner to be confronted with a digger bearing down on us in a menacing manner. We had strayed on a road- building site ! So we had to make a rapid retreat and take a detour round the extensive works. We ended up beside a main road heading towards Venlo. It was a shorter route but not so picturesque.. Looking at the map when we came over ...

    Day 5

A travel blog entry by cindyaserkoff on Jul 02, 2014

Today was a very short beginning ride to the place where a canal was dug but not finished to prevent the Germans from entering the Netherlands. Then on to a castle with many different gardens. After lunch we went to area where roses are cultivated. There were fields and fields of different color roses. We rode through small towns with ...
