... One field was full of flowers of all rowed of different colors - so lovely! The landscape is so dry; yellow and brown for miles and miles. I was not expecting that. On the drive to the coast we passed many vineyards and one was flashing as they had tied shiney ribbon on each plant. We will go to taste some wine tomorrow. My ears keep popping on the drive as we head down the mountains. I feel like I'm diving. Finally there is some greenery and small houses. Gas ...

The part of the PCH we drove is between Monterey and Morro Bay. It's an amazing piece of road hugging the golden ...

... choice. Why you ask. Yes it was Saturday night but more importantly it was the annual avocado and margarita festival. Bands and food stalls. But we weren't interested in that. Very pretty place with lovely bay and quaint cafés, shops and bars. We had fish and chips for dinner whilst watching the sun set over its famous big rock sticking out of the sea. I can't say the place was quiet as the huge seals were shouting ...

... sleep over at Pasa Robles, a short drive to Pismo the next morning. Since our checking was only 12:00 PM we drove through to Grover beach where we spent the morning walking the beach to Pismo Beach and back. The 3 coastal towns/communities are very close to each other. You could ride a bicycle from one end to the other at an easy pace in 30 minutes ("easy" is relative, I know my family would argue). Stopping at most of the scenic and photo ...
