Naar Limnos, Limnos en naar de heilige berg Athos
... prachtig referentie punt aan de overkant, trots en fier staat de berg Athos naar ons te lonken. Rond 16.00 uur liggen we aan de voet van de Athos. rie schiereilanden (Akti en daarnaast liggen Sinthonia en Kassandra het zuidelijkst) die als lange vingers in zee steken. Op de berg zelf zien we kloosters op allerlei hoogten, op en hangend aan de berg, naarmate we verder de bergketen langs varen worden de kloosters fraaier en zien er uit als kastelen ...
On the Road again
... denn die Hitze ist enorm. Nach fast 100 Km finden wir ein von älteren Damen geführtes Hotel in Loutrà Volvis an einem See. Grossartiges Bier in schwitzenden Gläsern und wie immer herrlicher türkischer Salat mit Fisch. Plötzlich müssen wir fluchtartig von der Terasse fliehen. Wind, Regen, ganz kurz und dann ist der Spuck wieder vorbei.

It is really nice to attend these conferences because it is many of the same people from year to year and we have developed many friends whom we enjoy seeing different areas and cultures with. Greece was very different, its culture is interesting, the economic trouble are not really noticeable, they are a very laid back people ...
Ferry, Buses and more buses
... going to the ferry; we swapped directions and were on our way! Very typical for our Greek experience!
We boarded the bus for Thessaloniki heading to our next bus to the Thessaloniki airport. There we will catch another bus for a 90 minute ride to the conference hotel. Travel gets a little complicated here, no trains, all bus and ferry. We should arrive around midnight.
