... Plymouth for a history lesson, and Boston for some big city fun (Bruins game and Toad the Wet Sprocket concert). ... to describe the place is eccentric. The shops all had an air of intrigue. Not least the "Marine Specialties" store. If it has been made, they sell it there. The place had replica cannons, anchors, life-rafts and torpedos hanging off the ceiling; full ceramic sets from American Airlines 1st class; and SWORDS. ... Primary (like my school back home). It was COLD in Chatham - very cold. but we still looked around the streets and visited the park which had a great display for Halloween. From here we drove to Provincetown at the end of the Cape.
Saturday we went over on the big ferry to Martha's Vineyard (an island off Cape Cod). It was so windy and cold, but we had a good time.

... Boston, although I don't think that is a pathway. We visited Hyannis to see the Kennedy Museum and shed a few tears. Had a great pizza afterward for lunch. We had intended to take the ferry out to Martha's Vineyard, but decided it would not be any different than what we'd already seen, just more expensive. Starting with Concord, we marveled at the town's lush beauty, and the impeccably preserved history. birthing the American Revolution and the literary Transcendentalists leaves both stately, and somewhat precious . First we trod up to and over the North Bridge where those "shots were heard around the world". It's just too beautiful for such mayhem.
