... exchange of food and bed. Her boyfriend, French too, works around the olive grove. For breakfast, "crosta'ta' " Its Italian! Yes the cook for the summer, Anna, is a lady from Rome. Cool. What was supposed to be a breakfast before setting off to Melbourne turned out to be 5 or 6 hours visiting the house, talking about life, discovering how an Australian pig farmer never thought about making a prosciutto crudo (cured ham) - how crazy ...

Mount Eccless National Parc

Just going to RELAX in Melbourne

Hey there, This could possibly be my last entry. I made it to Melbourne yesterday and have an awesome room at the Westin. I walked around the Southbank area had some dinner and then went to the Crown casino. I'm headed to the Queens Victoria Market today and St. Kilda tomorrow. If I take any cool pictures, I'll send them along before I leave. I'm going to try to relax my last couple days to get ready to come back to real life. :( See you all soon! Love, M

The Grampians

... of yards below the peak as we had not come equiped with crampons and ropes. Sneakily combining a couple of routes into one walk, we then walked along Fyans Creek to Delley's Bridge ("wonderful vegetation and rock formations" - our guide was spot on again). From here it was a short walk back to Halls Gap where we took a detour to see the Venus Baths ("a shady stroll to rockpools") before returning to our "log cabin". A really ...

... seafood pasta (spelling thing again) ive ever had. Didn't stop which was good, met with michelle after work and yep we went to the pub, and had some proper Aussie grub (ribs and chips....) better than that noodly stuff in thailand. Spent sat doing the obivous - the tourist thing with my own personal tour guide, did the big tower to look over the city, great views, jumped on a tram and took a little trip, saw the posh side of melbourne where they were getting ready for their ...

The Great Ocean Road

... reputation of being a hot, dry country. The temperate rainforest walk was about 20 minutes long, and we spent most of it looking for the venemous snail. It lies on its side and waits for prey to come, then spits poison on it and tips over to capture it. Very cool, and we did see one. If the picture turns out, I shall post it when I can. The Road itself. Built after WWII, it's as twisty and windy as any you'll go on, with the distinct advantage of no ...

The Great Ocean Road

... Princeton (no literally...a pub, a hostel, a house or two) for the night. I had gotten some wine at lunch, so I cracked that open and had a glass before dinner. We had a bbq for dinner...I think I had about three plates of food! It was so good! Afterwards, I started working on my pictures and my journal, and then Gerhart came over and started talking to me about my trip and his trip, and I would up cutting him off to go to bed.

We've been to Ramsey Street!!

... to drive the Great Ocean road and eventually get to Adelaide. We had four days to do this. Its not too far on paper but we kept stopping at look outs and nice places like Torquay where the international surfing championships are held each year! The weather was starting to warm up as well and it was nice and sunny. The Great Ocean road is a lovely drive - the road twists and turns with the coast line and its very rugged. The only problem that who ever is driving can't see it ...

The Grampians

... canīt remember what it was called! Sorry! We arrived at the Grampians shortly after and went on a lovely walk through the countryside to some pretty waterfalls! Quite randomly, we interrupted a wild emu as we started the walk which made us all jump as this huge bird started running! Paul nearly gave his mum a heart-attack again climbing up the rocks! This was when the search for a wild koala started in earnest! Must have been an amusing ...
