We have been staying at the cutest gasthof I have ever seen! It is a newly built barn conversion with modern facilities and it is in a very remote location. The furnishings are all wooden and when you step into your room, you are immediately hit with pine fragrance. We have crossed the border! And now we are staying in Italy for 1 week before heading back to Austria.

The part of Italy we have arrive in is an area which caters for both Austria and Italian. It is often referred to as South Tyrol. Very strange talking to the locals as we weren't sure which language to try and speak in! I think a mix of all 3 would suffice!

... I head but unlike last year when it was bitterly cold it was not quite as grand this time and the reason being is all the trees still have their leaves on them and you cannot see through the forest.

However once above the tree line the road up the pass is spectacular with mighty high cliffs and mountains all around. Sure enough there is the wonderful old arched bridge hanging on the cliff which leads into a curved tunnel which is simply curved out the rock.
