... hand at an ariel assault course....he came back a shell of his former self after 3 hours in the trees hanging from bits of wire and trying to keep up with 9 year old girls who were more agile than him..for my penance I had to play pitch and putt with Lauren using carved putters and wooden balls..no danger i'll be joining a golf tour anytime soon.
Definitely worth a visit in winter for you keen boarders out there.
... br> Der Hahn des Nachbarn hat dann ab 5 ca. zu nerven begonnen - aber ansonsten sehr gut geschlafen in der ersten nacht im Mobil.

Yes, as you can tell by my last few entries, I'm not in a writing mood at the moment. However, it's neccessary so that you all know that I am alive. Just briefly, Zell Am See was great. I stayed in a hotel because the town doesn't have hostels. It was nice to have my own bathroom and a private room. It wasn't much more than a hostel would have cost me. They had ...
Zell am See, Austrian Alps, Austria burles... quads needed to know! On top of yesterday's walk to the falls, my legs were telling me enough was enough, and I was worried about the kids, especially Declan.
We were given our torches and then we entered the cave... the air at the entrance to the cave itself blasts you in the face like the feeling you get sticking your head out of the car window into a hailstorm. Then we proceeded the first 346 steps (yes they are numbered) to the first ampitheatre of ice.

... yesterday have become a white ball of healing light. I fully expect to achieve enlightenment tomorrow when I lay eyes on the St Marco Square in Venice. Don't worry, I'll tell you all about it. I have also managed to work out the kinks in moving in a straight line. Which means the narrow sections no longer vex me so. Furthermore, the trees no longer scare the bejebus out of me. I've also discovered that the ungroomed ...
Bad Gastein, Austria coloneljames... open space with lots of room to manuever though, and I'm sweet. Not particularly quick, but I can move without falling over (hence the low fall count for today). Tomorrow I think I`m going to check the other side of the mountain, weather permitting, since there's something of a blizzard up there now. That's it for today, I'm off to soak in the thermal baths next door...

Hopefully the weather will clear up tomorrow - as awesome as it is to have fresh snow while you're boarding, the loss of visibility doesn't do me any favours. I've also been told that the average blue (easy) run here, is the equivalent of a intermediate run in Australia... Way to go through a tria by fire, James. Alright, that's it for now. Wish me luck.
Bad Gastein, Austria coloneljames... quite possibly the most entertaining guide I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We inadvertently ended up seeing Europe's second most over-rated and pointless tourist attraction, the Marionplatz Glockenspiel. This animatronic bell tower takes 15 minutes to complete... and would have been a lot more entertaining if Chuck Norris and Elton John had appeared (as the guide suggested they would..) For those who want to know the most overrated tourist ...
Bad Gastein, Austria coloneljames... down we could smell that distinctive smell of burning brake pads. We stopped at the side of the road to see smoke pouring from the front wheels, and the master cylinder leaking boiling fluid from the top............err, not good! We let it cool down for 20 minutes, then started her up again.............complete brake failure. Thank God for a good handbrake. We left her for another half hour, and Brad coasted down in 1st gear, 15km/h, stream of cars ...
Grossglockner pass, Austria roamingmonk... go back to the little café for some more beer and sekt. We shared a couple simple pizzas and that took care of the hunger pains until dinnertime. We were all feeling the mountain air and were a bit tired so we stayed in and had dinner - which was actually a little smorgasbord in our apartment. We got in a few good rounds of Scrabble and all of this was accompanied by pre-recorded Fox News on the television for Jim. A very nice day!
