Back to the boat and I did some basic engine tlc and after lunch, we got back on the bikes for a tour of the island, or at least part of it, along the extensive bicycle and pedestrian pathways. We had realised that the chances of our being very socially active this trip would be remote and as this 1.5 hours was the first time we have spoken at length to other people since leaving Limehouse Basin, it looks like we’re going to be right!

... Tamil demonstrators had stopped traffic in both directions. Making people miss their flights is not the best way to endear people to your cause in my humble opinion, but obviously a few hundred Tamil expatriates disagreed.
