Back to the boat and I did some basic engine tlc and after lunch, we got back on the bikes for a tour of the island, or at least part of it, along the extensive bicycle and pedestrian pathways. The route took us along a dyke with views over the polder and sand dunes beyond, thence into the dunes and then back to the town. It was beautifully peaceful and the air truly was recuperative. ... to Gothenburg and then south down the length of Denmark and back home via the Kiel canal. It was really pleasant to spend time chatting with another couple on their boat. We had realised that the chances of our being very socially active this trip would be remote and as this 1.5 hours was the first time we have spoken at length to other people since leaving Limehouse Basin, it looks like we’re going to be right!

... Tamil demonstrators had stopped traffic in both directions. Making people miss their flights is not the best way to endear people to your cause in my humble opinion, but obviously a few hundred Tamil expatriates disagreed.
