Had a tranquil day relaxing on the beach at Fort Casey State Park today. We were sidetracked with the lure of a beach while headed to the north end of the island to pick up a ferry to the San Juan Islands. We ended up spending the day swimming in the ocean, skipping stones on beach, playing hackie sack, goofing around, and cooking. ... and we enjoyed the rest of the day especially, in a city famous for rain, the warm sunshine . We took the monorail out to the iconic Space Needle and I eventually got my coffee while Nigel wandered round and found a pie! A real, hot, proper meat pie with pastry top and bottom and moist with gravy – just as he was losing hope of ever finding such a thing in America! That will probably be his enduring memory ...
