We had a nice visit from my friends and former neighbors, Manfred and Janice Rott from Oriental, who headed south to avoid a protracted stretch of nasty winter weather in the Carolinas and happened to end up here.  I'm slowly learning to navigate (thanks, Mr GPS) -- at least how to get to our favorite hangouts, and Maggie continues to amaze me with her interest in sailing, cooking wonderful ...

... turquiose colored water And white sand greeted us. What a beautiful spot this is. It was a very narrow island with really one ,ain road running through it (Periwinkle Way) . We checked out the Lighthouse east end but could not find a place to park. It was a newer metal framed lighthouse- not too exciting. Lots of bike riders on this island- lots! The couple of traffic cops really slow down the flow of traffic too. We drove down to JN "Ding" ...
