We traveled from Aunt Peggy & Sheldon's house to Henderson, NC. I rode criss-cross applesauce all the way to our hotel. Mom drove. It rained the first half of the way.

Aunt Roz's family is from Hartwell, GA. We crossed over lake Hartwell on our way into SC. In SC, we went passed Clemson University.

Uncle Grady was a cheerleader for Clemson University more than 50 years ago.

All this opulence for just 3 people. Yeppers thats the amount of folks that lived here. I was told that they entertained a lot tho. That justifies things, I guess. Who built it ?? Why the Vanderbuilts of course....Next stop----Clio, ...

      UP DOWN AND ALL AROUND

Today was awesome. David picked me up at about 10 and we went over to Steve's Paul, one of Steve's friends who is a computer wiz and makes sure that Steve is in touch with the world via his computer set up. He's a guitarist and an all round wonderful guy. He had lots of great stories about his days as a roadie for groups in the 70s and 80s. We got so wrapped up in talking to him that we delayed ...

... sure (same result all three times) and bought the recommended pair, Here's hoping they'll actually work, cos at $50USD, they'd bloody want to! So far, they feel pretty darn comfy! So, with car loaded off we went.

As the actual driving time between Blowing Rock and Chimney Rock was calculated (by Google Maps of course) as an easy two hours, we had ample time to roam around the Blue Ridge Mountains. On the agenda were only one definite stop, allowing us time ...
