Faofao Beach Fales Saleapaga, Upolu, Samoa Western
... there and we had a look around. We thought that we would catch a taxi like we

did yesterday but they were very expensive and scary! Instead, we headed off into town and saw some friends from

Geelong and the family we were with yesterday. We really wanted to go to a beach as it was really hot! So we

jumped on to this rickety old bus and headed to the beach. We stayed there for the whole ...

Actually, I wouldn't have left at all that day since I caught a stomach bug that kept me up all night and made me faint the next day. I decided that the horizontal recovery position was the best suited for me. I probably stayed in that position throughout the whole day except to swallow some dry crackers and drink coke.
Sorry, no pics for this day!

He mostly rested in the shade of the fale and snacked on dry crackers and water. I was very impressed that he still took every opportunity to swim in the ocean and report strange encounters with fish, schools of fish or decorative ocean creatures, such as star fish.
Lalomanu, Upolu, Samoa Western oceanspirit... Samoa - stay one night only in the capital! Watching the sunset (not to the sea here but anyway spectacular) and toasting with wine we celebrated the beginning of the paradise holiday. We didn't realise it at the time since it was our first fales but comparing Taufua with many other fales, the tarp instead of palm leaf blinds was not a nice touch... but for the first Samoan beach fale it was perfect. On our first day we went for a walk along the beach and found a coconut ...
Lalomanu, Upolu, Samoa Western johannajulien... lõunatada teises kuulsas kuurortis Coconut Resort.
Coconut Resort, Samoa anneristo... inside and it had a beautiful but eerie charm to it. The mist kind of added to that. From what we could see of the gardens they definitely lived up to their reputation but we hope to see them again in better light. The rest of the tour consisted of swimming in fresh water pools in the Togitogiga Recreation Reserve and in the warm sea at one of the south coast beaches. A beautiful way to spend the day. We also saw lots of ...

Our last part of the day took us to the edge of today, at the most western point in the world. We sat and watched the sun begin to set and listened to the waves lapping against the dark lava rock. I swear you could almost see dawn breaking just ahead of us, a new tomorrow was beginning. After dinner and a fresh pina ...
Savaii, Samoa tomandamanda... and miles of coconut plantation lays in the valleys below. This is real "Lost" country and if you were to get into that jungle you would indeed get Lost. Once again the rain greeted us as we edged closer to our destination of Lalomanu. But as we arrived at the beachside village, the sun shone and the rain just seemed to skim past the village and beach on either side of us. NOW, we really felt like we were on holiday. Lalomanu beach holds a ...
Lalomanu, Samoa Western cadnams... is in the form of a Fale- an open sided hut, on stilts with a palm-leaf roof and plastic sheets for blinds in the rain. They give you a break from the stifling heat (no aircon) keep you off the ground to frustrate the crabs and come with a mozzie net with only a handful of large-ish holes. The thin mattresses and pillows mean that the mornings are for stretching the sore neck and shoulders, but once used to the new sensation they really ...
Apia, Samoa kwant... from tailand in the back of the last office depot I walked into had more to do with their poor inventory managment than my particular artistic demands being met by a forward thinking buisness. That being said, This was definitely one of the high points of my three month adventure and I recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind trading walls for tarps and eating family style with fascinating strangers.
