Redondo was easy to find. The journey out of Hollywood was a bit hair raising but not as bad as I was expecting. The Portofino Hotel in Redondo was very grand and comfortable but a strange arrangement regarding the wifi- $11 dollars a night in your room or free on the lounge. It was actually very peaceful to spend time by a fire in the lounge.

Driving to LA was more desert, which was a little draining to see, but we were very excited to be heading to the west coast, and more importantly to the sweet sweet Marie Halliday. Marie is one of my best friends from college and a big part of why I enjoyed my time at USC so much, so it was great to have a chance to see her. She had been in Chicago for grad school and is now working at HBO (at a very important job in the movie department.) ...
