The campsite had flooded....not the entire campsite...just OURS!! That's not entirely true, but that's what it looked and felt like! There was a giant lake on our site....actually not a lake, it was a flowing river! Our pop up tent was full of water on one side, Charlotte had settled a little lower in the mud and our shoes were GONE!! ... bear safety. To us, it seemed so foreign to worry about seeing a bear – so out of our norm. I remarked to Ava that evening, “you know the Ransoms are out of our box when we are excited about the great camp site we are assigned and I tell you not to throw a carrot to a squirrel near our site because it might attract bears”. On the way back to camp, I wanted to hit a couple of other ...

... After a few hours of driving, you are not sure what the weather is going to be (as you are enclosed in a van) and let me tell you, it was a damn site colder than anywhere else we had been in America! The visitor centre had an open fire which we fully appreciated and huddled round, suddenly extremely cold, not used to the extreme weather change. After a conversation with one of the park rangers, we decided to head towards the old faithful geyser that erupted huge amounts of ...

Old Faithful, Jackson Lake and the Grand Tetons

... and through various kinds of spruce and pine trees. Then, there before us, and across the lake were the famed Grand Tetons. Because our campsite is on the east side of the Teton Peaks, we knew the next morning would be the best for photos. We gave the cameras a workout anyway. We then retired back to our campsite, got ready for bed and turned in just after dark. Our camping neighbors had four large rented RV vehicles with four large families who gathered at ...
