... he folded the top of the bag closed and said something to me in Spanish which sounded like, "Oh, I thought your strap was falling off so I was just helping, err I have to go." and walked off. And again, he didn't run off like he'd been caught, just sort of sauntered away. In fact I think he might have still been on the phone.
BUT WHAT THE HECK?!?!?!?
Who gets pick pocketed by a lazy, chatty kathy? It almost makes me wonder if he really wasn't trying to get ...
... and things. Where I was staying it is a nice area with cobblestone and big square with fountains- the main one Plaza de la virgen with a fountain of Poiseidon. I made great friends here with the austrailan girls, a german, two dutch and a girl from norway and we went out together salsa dancing and also to the beach for the whole day following my arrival. For halloween it was quite a treat to see the whole city full of young kids dressed up. It was different ...
Valencia, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands hippietravelerThis town was really in the middle of nowhere. There was a huge windstorm and the town was super dead, except for a bunch of seniors at the bar down by the beach. We hung out there to use their internet and to watch an episode of Frasier in english. Not our most exciting day. We tried to rent mountain bikes at our resort but they had put them away for the winter... it was like 20 degrees out!

... maybe not basis? But it's more than a logistical nightmare; it's also a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. Each day goes something like this: Ready...? Ready...? It's going to be huge... Here it comes... Oh...never mind...But that was great guys, can you do it again tomorrow? Everyone comes to work in the morning with enough energy and excitement to get them through a huge day of regattas and the celebrations to ...
Valencia, Spain laurenlValencia was perhaps at its most peaceful of moments this Sunday morning as nearly its entire population began their recovery from either yesterday's races or last night's San Juan Festival, and most likely a combination of the two. More people than not on this morning's tram ride were disheveled and sand covered at best, or passed out with spittle dribbling down their cheek and wreaking of the previous night's excesses. Last night ...
Valencia, Spain laurenl... corporations trample an already suffering continent. And I don't think introducing super-corn to yet another plot of land is a good idea. I do think organizations need to map out what their priorities are, rather than just writing down everything they want and passing it across the table, and start setting realistic goals (dream on G8). More than anything though, they can't throw up their hands in despair and give up, because nothing is not better.
Valencia, Spain laurenl... homesickness¨). I guess the point of all of this is that my time here in Spain is disappearing rapidly, although I still have a month all-together I only have a couple of weeks here in Valencia, and I just realized that I am enjoying my time here, which is something I can't honestly say I've been certain of much of this time. I know this is a bit of ramble, but this ...
Valencia, Spain laurenlIt is funny - I always wanted to go to Teruel...because I read a Entry about that place here at the travelpod...somebody went there and it looks kinda neat... That's what I experienced also - this city of Teruel is very different to all the other Spanish cities...it gives you an mediaeval impression...if you look at the pics you'll see - it's quite different here. I think it is ...
Teruel, Spain jess84... the mountains of Sierra de Albarracin. We made several journeys in the splendid nature of "Los Montes Universales", a natural preserve with pinewood and peaks to 1700 m. It also is worth to visit the charming Albarracin, it has an interesting set of narrow medieval streets and a wall. A dramatic cliff above the Rio Guadalaviar is the perfect setting for this attractive cluster of mellow pink buildings.
