    Today we got up and had croissants for breakfast, as usual. Next we wandered over to the Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar. 'Santa Maria del Mar' means Saint Mary of the Sea'. It had really impressive stained glas windows, and unlike most churches of its time, it does not have an altar with Jesus on the cross on it. Instead it had Mary holding baby Jesus with a ship below them.

    ... with sensory overload and no idea which direction to turn. Kind of like a tourist cattle drive from one end of Las Ramblas at Placa de Catalunya to the Christopher Columbus statue at the other end.

    ... It is certainly a very unique building. When it nears completion, all shops and other buildings to the frontage of it are to be demolished in order to created a major park / plaza in front of it. In the meantime, the shops are certainly cashing in on the tourism Euro.

    ... and I caught the tourist bus for a trip around the city, we were both nearly falling asleep.
    and when we got back to the motel it was 7pm and there was still plenty of daylight tea in the restaurant was at 8pm We went up and showered and decided to get room service.

    Straight after tea we crashed, both so tired.
