      ... had to change trains it was snowing really hard but our train to Chur (my favourite station name so far) was early so we only had to wait for a few minutes. When we got to Chur for lunch to meet with Michela, Gianluca and baby Rosa. I realised that as this part of Switzerland is German speaking, so we had to change back to speaking German which is weird as this was the first language of our trip.       ... quite close to the town centre. It is a very nice hotel and the weather (although not a nice as last week) is great! Went to the hotel restaurant on the first night - amazing french onion soup! And then a really lovely Italian restaurant called La Piazzetta - cheap and really nice pasta!

      Off to Bregenz for the weekend and then back again to Bludenz for another 2 nights!

      Day 283 4 hrs, 8 kms Strengen has a peculiar landmark: a covered bridge that looks like a bunch of random pieces of lumber attached together, all crooked, looking like it could fall over at any time. Just seems really out of place here in Austria where everything it seems is made to perfection. Does look pretty cool ...

      ... the top of the cliff, having to backtrack into town. Another trail climbs, high, high up through the village and into the forest beyond. A jolly farmer offers me a ride on his tractor... but no... can't do that. Then after a short walk, the trail starts to zigzag down to the road again, not far from where I started. I figure I'll just walk along the road for a while. Can't win 'em ...
