The Land of Anne of Green Gables

We awake early after a rough stormy night at sea. Spray washed all the way onto our balcony up on Deck 11 but the ship must have a good crew and a good design as the trip is quite smooth. It is misty and trying to snow as we cruise past expensive house situated on the red sand beaches of PEI. We decided to check out an Anne shop, a knitting shop then a shopping centre. A large passenger facility is located immediately ...

... bereits Mitte September fertig.

... about $24), where it turned out, it was Linda’s birthday. Our fellow travellers had smuggled a birthday cake into the kitchen and when the time came it was produced replete with candles, and accompanied by a loud version of “Happy Birthday” into which we were joined by fellow diners. We probably cost the Ristorante about $200 in lost dessert sales because, after our table had had its fill, Luigi shared the cake with the rest of the dining room.

We visit Ann at Green Gables, PEI

... periods, arms akimbo, palms facing outward, expressing dismay, pleasure, incredulity and sheer joy for life in the idiom of Luigi the paisano standing at the corner of Ontario Street and York Road in Guelph. These routines were always done with the greatest respect, for Liugi was a keen observer and commentator on the human condition. They were also eye-wateringly, hysterically funny, especially when foisted upon some unsuspecting couple waiting to cross a street ...

... rangers at the start of the hiking trail had some antlers we could look at and hold. They can weigh from 30 to 60 pounds each so I wouldn’t want to be carrying them around!

Next we drove to Pleasant Bay for lunch and whale watching. I had crab for the first time, which was interesting… We got a fresh half a crab each and had to break open the all the legs to get all the meat out. This was really time-consuming and frustrating for me. The taste was good, nothing ...

I'm home...!

Okay, if I had to live anywhere other than my little peice of Eden back in Sherwood Park, or Parksville, BC, where I plan to retire, I would chose PEI. And I wouldn't share my address with my children. It's a good thing I read that article a while back about the couple arrested for placing their children for sale on ebay, because, youch...it's been a bit painful...I don't just mean my swatting hand ...

You may need Anne of Green Gables as a reference

... I can tell you. I hefted my bag up the steps into a sunny porch with an even sunnier girl sitting behind a desk. Glimpses of a farmhouse kitchen and a living room filled with leather squashy sofas and student types watching tv caught my eye and I stepped over a pile of pairs of shoes at the bottom of the (polished wood) stairs. The whole place was filled with cheerful people and was decorated by an early 19th century Cath Kidston. Full marks on ambience. The sunny girl checked me ...

... and hope to see you again someday. Maybe you´ll need somewhere to crash in Dublin at some time in the furure (I´m sure my Ma wouldn´t mind, eh Maggie)......... While in PEI i discovered two things about myself, 1)I like Lobsters 2)I like Oysters. Other great places we visited in Atlantic Canada were St John, Frederickton and the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick and Halifax in Nova Scotia.
