82 & 84 Petaling Street Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia, 50000, 60-3-20268181
Bit of a change from Melaka, this is a hectic city full of market stalls, pollution and sky scrapers. Packed loads into the next few days, such as visiting; *A Pewter factory and imposing on the workers *A Batik cloth manufacturer *Climbing 272 stairs to the Batu Caves and saw all the monkeys, huge statues and awesome views. *The top of the Kuala Lumpur Sky Tower. *Native Museums etc. *An Elephant Sanctuary. *Imposing again this time on a native village with six fingered people (sorry no pict...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia aaronsadie3rd Jan Last morning in Bangkok so we booked in for a traditional Thai massage in a nice spa, you know how tough it is carrying a backpack for five weeks! Then got the flight to Kuala Lumpur and from the airport we caught the Star Shuttle to Chinatown and what a ride that was. It was one of those modern buses that you sit really high in, and he had his foot flat to the floor the whole way, we were in the front seats and when he was going around corners we had to hold on for dear life, it felt...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia freeben Back to KL for a short stop over before heading to Thailand. We stayed in Chinatown which was much more in the hood but right next to all the great shops and copied merchandise ;0) 1 Fendi leopard print scarf for 7 quid later and we where home and dry.
The best experience we have had though was stumbling across an strange man with a lot of fish - fish in a tank that clean your feet. You sit on a swivel chair and swing your feet in for hundreds of fish to come and start eating the dead ...
14/03/09: Departure in the morning towards the city!!. The minibus picks us up and tells us he has no sign of our reservation (although we have done it the previous night). As I am not a morning person, my blood is starting to boil. We get our stuff in the boot, get in the car and tell him to call his boss. We don't care, we are going. Not a trouble after that for the journey through the windy roads in the jungle to Jerantut. There we managed to get a bus just 15mn after we arrived (I love gr...

... seat and wondering just how comfy the KL benches would be for a quick nap, when a blond haired lady turned around from the sinks, and we spent a good long moment staring at each other in utter disbelief, because on the one hand, there was Megan Berry, standing just a few feet away from me, and on the other hand, I was in frigging Kuala Lumpur airport!
Turns out, Megan was traveling to London with her beau ...

Strangely, at this point neither Kate or I were feeling particularly excited about the trip even though we were at the airport about to take off. We had been asked that question 'so are you excited?' every time we talked to anyone about leaving, and we both felt like we should be, but it just wasn't happening. I recon that because we've been asked so many times we half expected to be taken over by some massive wave of overwhelming elation that just never ...
... through my hair... I went and rode on elephants in the jungle, had lunch on the veranda overlooking the south china sea.... shopped to my heart's content and then started to head back to Patong beach where I was staying in a nice little guesthouse... here is where the funny part comes in... Im thinking Im all that on this little scooter, it was teal and all cute and retro ...you know the really sexy kind (i had ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia karencazemier... a Bird Cage
A lazy morning was followed by our dumping our luggage at the train station and then spending the afternoon walking round the worlds largest walk in aviary, KL's Bird Park. Basically a huge net draped over 20acres of trees and steel supports with a large variety of birds on show. A really good afternoon with lots of pictures of the feathered kind.
Out of the blue we ...
... was too big and too noisy and too hectic and the people weren't friendly enough and basically I just wanted to be done with it. But, I knew I still had to do a few things. So, I decided I would go to the Batu Caves, a place with temples inside these huge caves that is supposed to be something that everyone must do in Kuala Lumpur. No buses run there, so I had to take a taxi. The public transportation really sucks here. There are hardly any buses. There is a monorail, but it just ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia snclark8... wanted to see in KL. On the bright side, it gives us a great excuse to go back!!
We finally met up with Shan and his wife, her name eludes me at this time (Tim, can you help me with that?) and piled into the car he had borrowed. Off we went to the eatery. They drive like crazy people in KL!! We ate a mixed assortment of Indian food this time around. Fish, chicken, soups and some sort of sweet dessert that looked and tasted like a combination of tapioca and ...
