We left Black Lake today and headed toward Vermont. We didn't make it.
We did, however, drive through the Adirondacks and somehow managed to drive into the bike portion of an Ironman race. No, I mean we drove into it! Imagine how those guys on bikes felt after swimming for 2.4 miles, then trying to ride their bikes for 112 miles, only ...

They would take the New York Central Railroad to Utica and then north to Childwold, being met by a stagecoach for the seven mile ride to the hotel. A few years later it ...

A travel blog entry by b_btravel on Mar 28, 2014

... was in order, now we just had to prove it to the friendly border patrol people. The first one we met was nice enough although he didn't quite understand how we could be old enough to have saved any money and be able to go on a trip such as this. He was also quite interested to know how we bought a car. The second one we met was obviously having a bad day standing outside in the cold and thankfully all we had to do was give him our car keys while we went inside to meet ...
