Lovely drive with Geoff and Amanda to Lefkosia (Nikosia) where we crossed the Turkish border. We did some shopping and had a drink of fresh lemonade at one of the cafes in the Suk.

We then drove to the Mall for some lunch before heading to Lefkara, a small village in the mountains famous for their lace and silver.

We got home after six, got changed and went to dinner in the town of Lemesol at TGIF.

A car is also recommended especially if you want to see some of the island, unless you come for a couple of days like me. I used the ZHNONAS Buses from Finikoudes central bus stop (bus #401) for just €1.50 and there was a corresponding lorry at Kofinou –and a further 10 minute ride to Tochni. The total trip cost me just €1.50.

... which house, there are no entrance doors near the chairs. Yesterday I experienced something similar in Lefkosia on the other side of the demarkation line. Three youngsters were having drinks at a table on the pavement, but all around them the buildings were shut tight. Where did those drinks come from? And why were they there in this empty space? Happy hour in ...

... shiny things, and restaurants and cafes with international cuisine. Even the narrow streets within the epic Venetian walls are lined with colourful souvenir shops should you have an overwhelming urge to buy a postcard that you'll beat home because Cypriot mail would be faster if it was delivered by a crippled camel, or a fridge magnet because everyone knows someone who collects fridge magnets, or tiny sample sized bottle of zivania which is probably ...
