... to decide where to place their nests as well as swallows. Nice way to pass the time. We also got to see a marmot enjoying the sunshine and lovely flowers to snack on.

Did some more checking out of the scenery and finished off the day with a birthday celebration at the Jackson Lake Lodge. Never get tired of that view. Back to Colter for sleep.

... Park, established in 1872, and it became a model for the rest of the world. I knew Yellowstone was large, but neither of us realized how extensive all the thermal features are. You always hear about Old Faithful, but just in the Old Faithful area there are many, many other geysers. We arrived at Old Faithful just in time to see it erupt, then in walking around for the next hour or so, we saw 3 others erupt. So much fun! It is amazing to be driving ...

... and women who kept the show rolling along and seemingly mostly safely. We woke today to clouds as we prepare to leave for Yellowstone. This is the first cloudy day we have had since our first night in PA at the beginning of the trip. The weather here has been the best of anywhere. Nights have been in the 50s and days in the mid 80s -- a welcome change from the 109 we experienced in Moab. Things will get even cooler in Yellowstone as we head further North later ...

... willow and cottonwoods along with 100 species of grasses and wildflowers cover the landscape. You'll see otters, marmots, moose, deer, bison and bear. It's a damn smorgasbord for the eyes and senses. This is not a drive by visit! Plan ahead. Grab your camping gear and immerse yourself in this wonderland. Stay at least a week. HIke your ass off and just plain enjoy being away from the big Shitties ...
