... told us that he hated spending money, Dave Cranage on steroids. He was staying at the hostel for free by helping out cleaning it whilst he was earning $250,000 a year, with most of it locked up mutual trusts. We both thought it was a tad strange. Never the less he bought us breakfast. Headed out to the Pilgrim monument next, the largest granite building in America. Built to commemorate the landing of the Mayflower in 1620 the first ship ...

Woke up hungover. Checked out of the expensive hostel heading into town to see the Comic Con. Dropped all our bags off at a Marriott after blagging that we were looking to stay the night. Saved us $40, if we were store at the Bus Station lockers. Walked down to the harbour to where the Comic Con was taking place. The queue was huge to get in, over a 4 hour wait. We walked straight up to the entrance and walked straight ...

Okay so you can't go by Plymouth without stopping in to see where the first people stepped when arriving in the US off the Mayflower. Took some pictures of the replica of the Mayflower and also the Plymouth Rock Memorial... don't know if this was the actual rock or not but I touched it virtually in my pictures. We were on our way through to Cape Cod... nice little ...

OK, we really didn't think this place was the greatest. Maybe it was the weather (foggy & cold) or the tour guide (couldn't understand him & we saw most everything at about 45 mph) or because it is off season (not much activity). So, those of you that love it (and a lot of people in the area said it was great), we apologize but somehow we are missing something. I wouldn't go back. Kaptain said Catalina has much more to offer.

... which has resulted in a lot of great renovations. Cape Cod has a number of cute small towns well worth visiting -- Chatham has a number of galleries and as does Wellfleet.

We actually walked the mile across the rock causeway to the seaside and again swam in the Atlantic Ocean - incredibly it was quite warm, especially compared to Kennebunkport, so we summised this must have been due to the Gulf Stream coming up the coast before heading towards Europe.
