Sammy grunts in a contented manner and I think he's sweet until it occurs that he's probably reminiscing about my Bannock. On the other hand he's lying with his great jowl on my chest which is very pleasing.
Some minutes later and somewhat less pleasing I realise that he's busy drooling into my brushed cotton jim-jams.

... We found James grave without too much trouble but were unable to find Tibbie. Perhaps not surprising as many of the gravestones are quite hard to read being covered in mosses and lichen but she's here somewhere. Many of the graves belong to shepherds and their families and it's difficult to think of anywhere better for people such as these to end their days than ...
The day we try and leave
A last minute rush of filling out forms, posting things home, discovering the van won't start and all sorts of semi disasters until we finally left, late, to catch a 5 o'clock ferry from Rosyth to Zeebrugge. Arrived a few minutes late, but the man let us through anyway. The ferry was pretty dull, but we had a very nice cabin, so we slept for most of the trip.

... and that perhaps the sun might like to come out. The wind has been pretty strong so far and has caused all of our hands to turn purple. Not to fret, we soon reach the shelter of the woods, warm up and settle down for a nice spot of refreshments. Miffy yelps delightedly that David has unveiled a flask from within his bag, only to be gutted when David announces that it is coffee. ... our way back to the car hire office with the help of Google maps, which is the best way for direction until we realise that you forgot to fuel up and you have 5mins of battery remaining...lucky we manage to find a service station and remember the way back. we then spend the day exploring Edinburgh castle.
