Very small town (village) but quite gorgeous, we walked around a bit, wanting arvo tea, saw a cafe that said 'closed' but when we asked she invited us in, sat us down and gave of coffee, tea, choc cake and apple pie.           ... in winter. When in American Vermont we have to say VerMONT, not like Melbourne where we say VERmont. Got to get the emphasis on the right syllable! Had lunch next to a visitor information centre, there was a stall manned by volunteers from American Legion Auxiliary. There were sandwiches, bagels, fruit, hot cider, etc, all by donation.           ... were really green and slimy..... I am happy I had gloves although I am not looking forward to cleaning them. I will rinse them only and clean them at the end of the lock system I think....! The boat behind us used dish gloves. Smart move.
