    Arriving Crete

A travel blog entry by bmtravel on Aug 29, 2014

Aegean Airlines flight to Heraklion late leaving but made up a bit of time. Collected our hire car then drove to Rethymnon - about 90 mins. Room 111 at Rimondi Boutique Hotel was on the top floor, lots of stairs to access but spacious & private. Met up with David & Sue about 3:30 & had a few drinks, watched their Seabourn ship depart then we walked around the old town a little before having a nice seafood dinner at one of the many cafes lining the old Venetian ...

After visiting museum yesterday, we were excited to see the real city. Many other tourists had the same plan! A cruise ship from Eastern Europe flooded the site with people. Even so, it was marvelous to imagine how the people lived in this city several thousand years ago. Dave captured the clear sky, massive columns, ...

After a very tight connection in London resulting from a delay out of SFO, we made it to Brussels where we had a long layover. No Belgian waffles and one of us was not bold enough to take the metro into the city for a look around. very weary on our last leg on to Crete where we arrived around 2300 at our hotel on Heraklion's harbor. As we write this, already we ...
