    Bundled up in my fleece and wool jacket.
    On the side table, there is a mug of hot mint tea, a slice of chocolate marble bundt cake and slices of mcount apple, and finally my journal and pen – a beautiful still life – that are all the more comforting because each was brought out with love and hugs and a comment to make us laugh.

    ... the Franconia Notch State Park, heading for the Flume Gorge Walk. To our dismay, a coach load of English Saga-types arrived at the same time. We ducked our heads in embarrassment and pretended to be Lithuanian or whatever and snacked in splendid isolation. The walk was excellent and much needed exercise for us, through the forest, through a covered bridge and up to the Flume, a cascade of water through a narrowing gorge. Very picturesque and ...

    ... A beer sampler since we were at a brew pub. Buckets of rain today so the colors looked very different today. Did a loop around and saw several small cities, communities. On the way back we stopped by a waterfall that we looked at yesterday and was underwhelmed by it. Today after the rains....different story.
