... t completely missed the fall leaves turning on the trees and the Green Mountains are beautiful because of it. I got very excited over some covered bridges in Bennington, we ate dirty food in a redneck diner and some not so great Mexican food in Manchester Center. So far so ...
... adjacent to the noisy, busy freeway, secured one night in a serviced pull through, turned on the air conditioners (it was warm), put on the Giants game and relaxed with some fresh caprese from our larder.
Perhaps we would have remained overnight up in the Berkshires had we found an open campsite. The Walmart in North Adams doesn't allow overnights so we moved on.
Long day but colors of fall were out in force. Now we are in Pennsylvania.
... facilities in much need of refurbishment. We had a water-side seat at the Marina Restaurant, a bar/diner by the Connecticut River. It was fascinating to watch Americans on a Saturday night out, drinking cocktails while watching college football and Major League baseball on two tvs at the same time. We ate well and didn't allow the noise levels (worse than a school canteen) to disrupt our meal.
An early start tomorrow as we move to Boston, on Columbus Day too!
... watch this event which occurs twice each day. It was quite an amazing thing to watch. I'll bet it is even more spectacular when the spring runoff is at its highest.
After this event we had breakfast and drove towards Woodstock NB. We saw some nice fall colors but it was obvious that the best was over so we’ll keep our fingers crossed that Vermont is still in its prime.

Yesterday was ruined by constant, heavy rain. Today couldn't have been any more different - beautiful bright blue skies all day accompanied by crisp temperatures. Marvellous!
